Asking if the game is worth it on the game's subreddit seems silly. I would say as long as you go in with an open mind that this is more a Viking game versus and assassin game you'll be fine. Lots of cool fighting, pillaging, etc but the stealth aspects are kinda subdued. I loved it, but AC purist probably were a little turned off by it.

The directorās cut offers a little more variety, so the game is a bit less repetitive, so that one is worth it. Assassinās Creed II and Brotherhood are worth it. Assassinās Creed III Remastered is worth it, because there are a few gameplay improvements and you get Liberation with it. Unity with the dead kings DLC is worth it.

Absolutely not. I think they did an incredible job with this work and so should everyone. The impact of this mindset is that they have "over"protected their game. According to outsiders, this is the cause of a very high CPU usage; though the developers of this game say this protection does make that big of a difference in usage.
2 DLC's really, the rest are just content packs for more weapons/armor. If it comes down to ability to do so, I'd just buy the DLC individually because I don't really care about weapons or armor in a SP game.

Short answer, yes, Origins is absolutely worth playing. If you like ancient Egypt and Egyptian lore Origins is great to play. Just running around, scaling pyramids, visiting cities. The story is ok. Starts out weirdly paced but once you past the first bit it becomes quiet good with just the ending suffering some imo.
author of the thread - if you want to know what Origins feels like - imagine Dark Souls without Bosses, where you play shield-window-attack gameplay for 70hours against ordinary mobs. Gl&hf. P.S. it still has some brightsides like you get to know why Assassins started to cut fingers and who heroes wife really is. but nothing more sadly.
Is the pack worth getting? Been seeing mixed opinions about it. According to this Ubisoft page, the Deluxe Pack contains the following: The Desert Cobra Pack is nice to have. The rest is not worth mentioning imho. Hmmm yeah might as well get it for the desert pack. It's only $15 anyway with extra bonus stuff with it.
